World Handicapping System (WHS) 2024 Update Details

From April 1st the only real change you need to be aware of is that your course handicap (CH) maybe subject to a minor change, and this will be confirmed on the England Golf (EG) and IG Apps and also on the modified look up charts outside the Pro Shop.

Your course handicap (CH) gives you the strokes you need to play to your handicap, and the reason your existing course handicap (CH) may change on 1st April is because of the new way of calculating it, rather than converting your handicap index (HI) into a course handicap (CH) using the Slope Rating of the tees you are playing from, the new calculation also includes the difference between Course Rating minus Par.
